Our Commitment To Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available on our homepage and at every point where personally identifiable information may be requested.
The Information We Collect
When you create a QuitMeter, we ask you for a few pieces of information -- the name you would like us to use to address you, an email address, and the date you plan on quitting smoking.
The Way We Use Information
We use this collected information to provide you with a personalized page to help you track your progress as you approach and then go beyond your quit date. In addition, your email address is used to help you recover your your password (if you choose to password protect your page).
We use non-identifying and aggregate information to better design our website and provide you with a better service.
Finally, we never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.
Our Commitment To Children's Privacy
Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information at our website from those we actually know are under 13, and no part of our website is structured to attract anyone under 13.
How You Can Access Or Correct Your Information
You can correct or change any of your personal information by logging into our website with the username and password your provided at sign-in time. If that is not possible, you may also correct or remove information from our system by corresponding with our corrections department (corrections@quitmeter.org) by email, provided you use the email address you initially signed up with.
How to Contact Us
Should you have any other questions or concerns about this privacy policy, please contact us at privacy@quitmeter.org. Please recognize that QuitMeter is a volunteer project, and is staffed by a single individual currently. We aim to respond to all requests within 48 hours, but cannot guarantee this level of responsiveness.
